In the midst of divorce proceedings you might not feel that you will be able to live post-divorce. I can say that having the love of my life divorce me was a major event in my life and it left me seriously depressed wondering whether I was going to come out of the big black hole that it created.
Today I am single and happy to be that way. Gone is the need to have a partner, in fact I am happy to be single for the rest of my life. I have goals and I have purpose and I achieve good things each week.
You might not think that you can make it after divorce. You might think that your partner that has left you defines you as a person. You might think that life without that person is not worth living. Believe me, I know how you are feeling. I know also I have been suicidal feeling like killing myself with no purpose left in life.
But life can go on. You can heal and get better. You can become an encouragement to others and you can help other people in years to come who are going through what you are going through now.
My life with Christ is so much richer now that my wife is in my life. Jesus became really important to me and for a number of years in my loneliness Jesus was my closest friend. He is wise, he answers prayers and He is good to a person that is afflicted with the stigma of divorce.
All of my friends know of me as a single person now and love me for whom I am. I am quick to give people encouragement and I have some good stories that are fun to listen to. I personally think that Jesus taught against second marriages in scripture and so I am not going to get married again and since I have come to grips with being single for the rest of my life, I have been content just to have women as friends.
If you are facing divorce now let me tell you that life can and will get better for you one day. Just hold on, take some time to get to know yourself for who you are, see a counselor if you must and then become a light to your community with the answers that you find.
Have you ever wanted to see a clairvoyant but the Bible forbids it? Did you know that there are people in churches with a gift of prophecy that can get a message off God for you? You can ask questions of them and they can take the questions to God for you. Eighty percent of the church don’t use these people as they don’t think the gift of prophecy exists anymore but the people that do use them get tremendously blessed. If you are not a Christian just say that in your email and the prophet will be more sensitive to you.
